Cultivar: Coratina

Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Northern Puglia, Italy. 500mls.

As the name suggests, Monogram Intenso, extracted exclusively from Coratina olives, is punchy, highly aromatic and polyphenols rich that adds a burst of taste to any dish.

The bitter and spicy notes of Monogram Intenso pair beautifully with grilled meats and fish. It is equally extraordinary when used in frying, adding unsurpassed flavour and crunch. Notes of artichoke and fresh almond emerge beautifully in vegetable soups, while its notes of freshly cut grass enrich fresh salads and cooked vegetable dishes.

Olio Guglielmi 'Monogram Intenso' is made from selected olives, milled quickly and at very low temperatures.

Sensory Analysis:
Taste: Intense fruitiness.
Aroma: Green Tomato, artichoke (typical of high-quality Coratina oils), almond, cut grass & herbs (bright and grassy notes); green apple, a subtle fruitiness that balances the oil’s peppery intensity. A strong pungency and spicy finish (due to the high polyphenol content) make it an excellent choice for dishes needing an aromatic kick.

Food pairings:
Perfect drizzled over steak, lamb chops, or grilled pork for an extra punch of flavour.
Great with game meats like venison or duck.
Enhances classic tomato bruschetta, especially with garlic and basil.
Splash over stews and soups for a burst of flavour and healthy coratina phenols.
Try over aged cheeses like Parmigiano Reggiano, Pecorino Romano, or aged gouda.
And of course all greens and salads - mesclun, arugula, radish and a smidge of balsamic vinegar. Divine on all pastas and risottos. Excellent on grilled eggplant, zucchini, or roasted cauliflower. Slather on new potatoes with rosemary.
Dessert? Drizzle over dark chocolate gelato or a chocolate cake for something wild.

From the producers:
‘Olio Guglielmi has been producing extra virgin olive oil in Puglia, and more precisely in Andria, since 1954. The 200 hectares of land where the olive groves are form an integral part of not only the economic but also the social culture.

This olive oil is from a range called ‘Le Monocultivar’, created to reflect the territorial identity of the brand.

Each oil is a single variety of Coratina, Ogliarola and Peranzana and is pressed within two hours of harvesting. The result is an excellent quality extra virgin olive oil that speaks of the terroir from which it comes.'
